Greetings from Metro Charlotte, NC
« on: July 19, 2015, 04:03:00 PM »
Howdy everyone!
I'm an old guy with a '92, 910. Newly retired so getting back into playing Old Time, Cajun, Hank Sr., Texas Swing. I've also started doing some repair/set-up work so if you're in the CLT area give me a PM and I can take a look at what you got.

Hi Mark. Welcome to the UTGF. I strayed into Charlotte a few times while attending NASCAR races up in Concord. Haven't been since 2010. Congrats on being newly retired. Enjoy the site.

Greetings to you Mark! Welcome to the forum. While I don't usually visit the new member introduction sub-forum... I think I will break that bad habit.  It seems that Charlotte NC has been the
site of my interest this week.... and glad to see a new member join from there. I am learning some great songs of my interest, played by musicians in your area. (mainly youth groups... but awesome music nonetheless... even though I too qualify as an old guy!)

welcome mark.

so what is the qualification for 'old guy' status these days?  maybe because you think you are?  :)

if i can't figure it out, i can always look at my senior public transit pass.  they call them 'charlie' cards in boston, after the song.  if you don't know the song, i guess you don't qualify as an 'old guy'.   ;)

I think it's a combination of having a few Ray Price tunes in your repertoire, constantly being offered Senior discounts and your 10th anniversary of AARP membership.

Lucky for me I'm a high mileage 18-year-old. ;D
