Your best bet would be in the case with a humidifier. I recommend Oasis as a good in-the-case humidifier. Damp-its aren't bad either...

I am in the exact same boat although I was able to take my Taylor with me.  I had to leave 3 guitars (1 with all solid woods) at home. I put a couple of damp kitchen sponges in baggies with holes in them in each case.  We'll see how well that works.

When not being played, my guitars live in their cases. Like vampires and coffins...

The hard guitar case is preferable for resisting humidity changes. Whether using a hard or soft case, while away for an extended trip, I'd wrap the case in plastic - say, a pair of large garbage bags, taped for a hermetic seal.

If you have not headed out the door yet, you can make a case humidifier pretty quickly.  If nothing else, an old plastic soap box or other small plastic container can be drilled out a bunch of times and used for this purpose.  Just add a damp, but well wrung out sponge and leave it under the head stock (obviously you want the exterior of the plastic container to be completely dry) .  If you are careful and can leave the guitar case flat, a small one can fit by the heat stock and another at the heel.  Up at the head stock even a partially open sandwich bag with the same sponge in it will work pretty well in a pinch.

Edit: I just realized that you said soft case.  The solution I describe will depend on if you have any open space to work with in the case like a typical hard case would.  If something will fit, but is loose in the case, it isn't a bad idea to leave a sticky note on the case reminding you so you don't pick it up with that stuff rattling around in there.

That's what I did yesterday, went  to the dollar store and bought  3 soap containers for a buck each, drilled holes and cut sponges to   fit. I put 2 in the headstock section in my GS mini soft case. I had  wet rages in a bag but they left a smell, so I went this route.

The sponges will get stinky too! If you use distilled water they don't get stinky quite as quick. Whatever you do don't leave a stinky sponge or rag in there or your guitar will smell like Grandma's basement.

I think the stinky sponge issue might depend on your water and how wet your sponges stay between top offs.  I have never had the issue with my well water, but I use smaller sponges and let them almost dry out before re-wetting.

If your sponge does start to smell...you can always wash it using dish soap...then make sure thoroughly get all the soap.  Next put it on a plate and throw it in the microwave for a minute or two tops.  It's a great way to sterilize your dedicated guitar sponge.  ;D
