Just want to say hi and thanks for all of the great information on this forum. I found it this past spring and figured I'd finally register and hopefully add some posts in time. In 2007 I picked up a 214-CE when I decided I wanted to play acoustic more often and get a new guitar. I played a bunch of different guitars and this particular one just sang to me so I picked it up and have been very happy with it. Other Taylors include a '97 Cujo-10, a 2011 414-CE, a 2011 Spring Limited 414-CE Cedar / Walnut, and some GS Minis that are just a blast to play. In terms of guitars, I'm not limiting myself to Taylor as I'd like to get a D-28 or one of its variants someday and explore some other builders. I certainly like Taylor guitars -- the playability, sound, variety, innovation, customer connection and sustainable practices. I find the acoustic guitar world fascinating -- learning about shapes, tone woods, construction, playing techniques, all of it. Currently I'm building up a base of songs to strum and sing, and spending some time learning more chord theory and scales. Also spending some time fingerpicking. It's a fun ride and it's great to be part of this forum!
