just wondering if you guys can chime in with your thoughts on walnut back Taylor's.

I've never seen one or played one, but I'm curious to know how you feel it sounds in comparison to other woods.

pics would be great also.

I think I saw someone with sinker top and walnut back and sides here...

I love my 1997 cedar/walnut GA. I still think that it is the best-sounding of all my guitars. Wonderful bass response with strong mids and sparkling highs - and plenty of volume. Here are some pics:

My Taylor Grand Auditoriums:

1997 Cujo14 - old growth cedar/black walnut
2014 K24e - master grade koa
2018 Custom GA - bear claw sitka spruce/mahogany
2019 614 - torrified sitka spruce/flamed maple
2020 714 - lutz spruce/rosewood

I have a 414ce LTD Sitka/Walnut ... the best way to describe it tone-wise, IMO,  is it sits between Rosewood and Mahogany ... nice and woody with a little more pronounced mid-range than Rosewood ... not quite the overtones of Rosewood ... nice sparkle but plenty of warmth ... in short, I like it quite well ...

I to had a 414ce LTD, 2006 Fall Limited.  Liked the sound, good bass response and lively highs.  Only sold it to finance a different guitar.

I did enjoy the sound it gave me.

I have a w-10 and I love the guitar!  It has great power and sparkling mids and highs.  I think it would be a great guitar for lead lines.   I have found its bottom end to be adequate but not as powerful as rosewood.  In my opinion, the overtones, natural harmonics and the sustain are great on this guitar.  Definitely one you should consider and I'm really favoring the GA shape these days so I agree you should go for the W-14
