814ce bindings on natural vs sunburst??!
« on: March 07, 2012, 01:00:09 PM »
Hi,

I know that 814ce comes with maple body, neck, and headstock bindings. How about bindings on 814ce with Tobacco burst? I ask because there is 2011 tobacco burst 810ce in classified with white bindings.

Thanks

A local shop has an 814ce tobacco sunburst and it has maple binding.

Cheers!
Finally content with my guitar herd.  Well almost...

The maple binding is standard on all 814ce guitars.
I don't know where the white binding came from unless it was a special order.

the 2011 810e with tobaccoburst top is a 'legacy' model, which had white binding
rather than maple, with Standard II bracing rather than CV, as did the 910 legacy
(Standard II), unless the bracing option was allowed to be selected (it may have)

there is also a 2010 812ce with tobaccoburst top & maple binding -
both guitars have the upgraded Gotoh tuners (gold with
black buttons on the 810 & antique gold on the 812ce)

maple binding was standard on the 800 acoustic electric series  starting in 07,
the current inlay pattern was used starting in 04, with the single ring ab rosette &
previous models had either the progressive diamond fretmarkers 93-03 or the small
slotted diamond fretmarkers 92-earlier (with white body/fretboard/headstock binding)

although not a 800 series, here's a pic of a tobaccoburst finish on 714LTD with maple binding

the burst finishes were a good bit darker back then (03) & the more recent ones are more
transparent at the darker edges of the top - the 12 700s have a dark vintageburst standard
