150e question!

      Was lucky to find a like new second hand 150e, and love it. The action was a bit too high so I lightly sanded down the saddle and things are soooo much better and easier to chord with no buzzing. I could not find my Elixer lights, so went with Daddario 10-47s

      Now I am finding the high octave of the low E string is SHARPER than the larger string of the low E pair, when i fret a "G" chord.  Could it be that this guitar doesn’t like these strings? It just doesn’t make sense. Suggestions, I ordered some Elixers and will be here in a couple days and I will go back to them.........

It could be the string is just a dud or was slightly damaged (kinked) when it was installed; it's been known to happen.  So your first plan to just swap out strings is the best course of action at the moment.

If that doesn't correct the problem, you'll need to drill down further into the troubleshooting matrix.  That would include a consideration of the possibility that when you sanded down the saddle it created the situation you're describing.  Although I'm having a hard time conceptualizing how that might be the case with a single string on a 12-string guitar...

  This is truly a FIRST for me.. I changed the strings out  to my normal Elixers and PERFECT!!!! Finicky Bi$&h!!!!!

Yeah, sounds like it was just a dud or damaged string; it happens.  On the whole, I've never heard any complaints about D'Addario's quality control, though, and I've used their strings on non-Taylor guitars, so I wouldn't write them off entirely based on a single experience.

Glad it was a simple fix, though!  Always the best outcome!

I completely agree with Tim.  Considering how many strings we go through, it's a wonder that we don't encounter more dud strings than we do.  I've had only two -- one each from Elixer and D'Addario.

Yea I’m sure it was a luck of the draw, when you think of just how many strings are produced. There just HAS to be some duds. I must say, it’s a really odd feeling when this happens, Not a good odd.......I was totally Perplexed
