My 214 CE K Shipped Today
« on: June 02, 2020, 01:33:41 PM »
I was looking at the serial number of my Taylor 214 that they shipped today. Everything with the number checks out. Made in Mexico. Dated 03/17/2020. The last 3 numbers are where it sat on the production line for that day. That number was 359. I know the 214 is Taylors biggest seller and that is due to some things and one being the price point. I have no clue as to how manufacturing works but Im doubting that make a full acoustic guitar from scratch in one day. I'm guessing that 359 of them were completed in one day with the final step. They must churn out a lot of guitars though looking at that number.

Good for you!  Please post photos when you get it.  The photos I've seen of these online as well as in person look every bit as attractive as the super premium Koa line.  I played one in a store last year, and I was really impressed - fantastic tone!  One of these days I'm going to do a thorough comparison of the Koa line (this one or another) against my 324ce BE - I'm curious to see the battle of the hardwood tops!

It should be here on Monday.  I watched the video on this forum about the Tecate factory and it was pretty impressive to see.  They make all the Taylors there that not 100 percent solid wood .

Honestly, if the top is solid I am good with that.  I live in the Nevada desert and everyday of the year the humidity seems to be around 20.  I have my guitars in a room with a humidifier and its a chore to keep it at 45-50 but I do.  Layered back and sides is a good thing for me.

I am finding that UPS tracking is not really accurate during these uncertain times.

I agree and I forgot that it would go to Sacrament first before Reno and that is where it is now.  Only two hours from Reno but i guess it depends on what time it leaves there tonight.  I have to say that I have never paid this much attention before though  :)
