Title: Hello From The Seattle Hinterlands!
Post by: sheinke on March 04, 2019, 06:12:48 PM
Finally at 57, after years of putting off buying my 'dream acoustic' in favor of house, kids, home studio, microphones, etc., I finally purchased a 1995 810 in great shape.  It was a bit of an eBay risk, but it's got low play, and except for a minor lacquer crack, is ready for Primetime.  The earlier 1 11/16'" neck really feels great.  Now I'm thinking about sending it off to have the ES2 put in.  But first gotta play it more!

Cheers,

Steve

Welcome Steve-

That sounds like a great find! Taylor can definitely fix the lacquer crack, but consider other after market alternatives to the ES2. If the 810 is pure acoustic, there are great pickups out there that do not require putting holes in your guitar's body and bridge like the ES2. Just some food for thought. Congrats on that 90s Taylor!

Welcome Steve, and congrats on your new (to you) 810. Rosewood Taylor's surely hold their own in group settings, especially a DN. Enjoy!
