Title: Capo- G7th Heritage VS Elliott
Post by: TLAW on January 21, 2019, 12:28:58 PM
I've never tried an Elliot but I do have a G7th Heritage which looks to be the same design..I LOVE the Heritage ......BUT I'd be super interested to hear from anyone who's tried both the Heritage & the Elliot for a comparison...

I have an Elliott elite and I'm not happy with it.  It seems to require much pressure.  I'm ordering the G7th hoping for better results.

OK, so will simply defer to the Elliot owners for comparison for the obvious reason: I've never owned one.  There's my disclaimer.

But for this ignoramus --who btw is not averse to spending more dough when a piece of gear is demonstrably better-- I cannot fathom how such a simple device can command the price that the Elliot does.  Now at the risk of appearing hypocritical, I do have G7th capos (um, four ;) ), because I find their higher cost over the competition is justified by the quality and user-results.

By contrast, I have one Planet Waves triple-action that I likewise swear by, and it's half the price of my G7ths.  But all my capos that I have, I keep and seek no further, because they work uber well.  If it ain't broke, right?
All to say the simplest thing: I don't get it when it comes to the Elliot :)

There are a lot of these threads on the web right now, in various forums.

I'm inclined to try the Shubb Fine-Tune first, as it's the cheapest of the lot from a really credible company. I love overbuilt, metallic things, and have always admired the Shubb line EXCEPT it too, as most of them do, changes the intonation. The G7 Performance is the closest I've found so far to the perfect capo, with the least amount of intonation change, if at all.

If anyone has a used Elliott or G7 Heritage lying around unused, I may have some interest in purchasing it.

Thanks,
Scott

I just got an Elliott Elite, I like it fine.  It's really a piece of jewelry.

I dont think I'm going to blow $160+ for my other guitars tho.

What would be wrong with a Paige 6 capo https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PO-6N--paige-6-string-standard-capo-satin-nickel (http://Paige 6 capo https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PO-6N--paige-6-string-standard-capo-satin-nickel) for about 1/10th the price?
