Yeah, the Sox pretty-much ran away with the season this year for their fourth World Series victory in the last 15 years... Were it that my Buccos could make a similar claim; the Pirates haven't even made an appearance in -- let alone won -- a World Series since 1979. That's now the longest drought in club history... :(
I imagine things are pretty raucous up there in "Beantown"...! Congratulations!

Well, what we're seeing now could be a case history repeating itself. Early in the 20th Century, the BoSox won five World Series titles between 1903 and 1918 -- then not another one until 2004... Now they've won four between 2004 and 2018...
So let's hear it for the 2104 Boston Red Sox: after another 86 years of frustration, World Series Champions once again...! ;)

Funny that the last time the Red Sox played the Brooklyn team (Robins) in the World Series, Babe Ruth faced Casey Stengel.

Oh, wow! I had to go look that up, but you're right! Ruth was the winning pitcher of Game 2 of the 1916 World Series...! That one was also a 5-game series, as it turns out...!
