Title: Playing on a parade float!
Post by: cc7 on August 06, 2018, 11:35:25 AM
About a week ago my trio (minus one member) played from a float in a small town parade.
A generator powered two 50 watt active speakers (Kustom PA-50). One mic and
one guitar into each, with a mic cable connecting the two, which gives each speaker the
sum of all four inputs. What a fun time! The 50 watt speakers were plenty loud. (You can see
a bit of one speaker in lower left of picture)

How fun! I was in many parades in band, but I had to walk (march). That would have been a different sensation being on a float (trailer). Hope you had a steady driver!

Sea legs might come in handy.  I agree with TG a nice steady driver would be a necessity, a smooth stopper, and starter for starters.

Very nice. I marched in a parade a couple of times playing guitar. Back in the days of the Marching Guitar Orchestra on the West Bank of the University of Minnesota.

Never ridden a float, though. That would be even cooler.
