Title: Taylor uke
Post by: Ashriley on January 19, 2012, 01:26:43 PM
Taylor swift is pictured with a Taylor uke and what looks like the gig bag that belongs to it. What kind of wood do you think it is and does anyone have a good price range?http://www-hollywoodlife-com.vimg.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/011812_vogue_taylor_swift120118161148.jpg

That would be Koa.  The price right now for a Taylor uke is going to be alot, but they throw in a matching guitar for free. ;D

here's a video with Andy Powers, who was highly involved with hand-building of them -

the matching GSce Koa guitar also has solid lining & side bracing
from a design derived & adapted from the R Taylor shop ... very cool  8)

I have been (unofficially) told that Taylor ukes will probably be available without the matching guitar... ;)...sometime in the future.
