Ordered these nickel Gotoh tuners from Japan and had my guitar tech install them. Several people have said these are drop in replacements for the Taylor tuners. They must have a different definition of drop in than I do. I've upgraded tuners on Fender strats and they were drop in replacement. All is good. photos aren't the best but, I never claimed to be Ansel Adams

I have a set of the Gotoh Delta 510 1:21 ready to go into my 2014 814. DO they cover all of the "footprint" of the original tuners? I am curious and would consider sending the guitar to Taylor for a retrofit if their is any visible left over from the original tuners. Beautiful guitar and job....pictures were fine! Rick

When I did mine I could not see any marks from the old tuners.

Yes, but you will need to drill new holes for the Gotoh screws.

Make sure you mark your screw depth so that you don't exceed the thickness of the peghead.

I bought a little collar that fits on the drill bit with allen screw so there's no way you can drill too deep.

Nice, I don't like the grovers on some Taylors
