Title: How is the Taylor classic?
Post by: csm on January 10, 2012, 08:07:30 PM
I have not been able to find one in Georgia.  How are  the hd pickups. I also want to know how the neck felt vs their taylor acoustics?

It's a good guitar.  QC and feel is right where you'd expect Taylor to be, which is to say superb, of course.  But guitars are very personal things, and with the wide breadth of electrics available (far broader than acoustics), along with the myriad of electonics which define a guit's tone and dynamics, asking "how" is the Taylor SB is somewhat of an impossible question to answer apart from the objective, "it's a quality instrument."  FWIW, I like them well enough, but not enough to own one ...likely due to the fact my brain is rooted in the Strat and Les Paul as rock machines.  Personality ...go figure :)

I love mine. It was a first year issue. White with two mini-buckers. The only issue is that the high e nut slot was cut too close to edge of the neck. I wish they came with ebony fingerboards. For the price, they should.

all standard electric models (T5, SB-C/S & T3)

Mine is clearly rosewood. Maybe a rarity?

Just checked the Taylor Website. the Classic has a rosewood fret board. I wonder if Ebony in optional?

I find the neck to be faster than the acoustic neck, but I guess that's to be expected. I'm know the dimensions are different.

I really want to get the pickguard loaded with the classic humbuckers, which I understand have more bite and presence that the half bucker.. Is it as easy to change the pickguard as they say it is?
