Title: Santa Cruz Guitar Strings
Post by: Kmkoenig on November 23, 2016, 09:34:19 PM
Has anyone on the forum tried Santa Cruz Parabolic guitar strings on their Taylor?  If so, what are your thoughts.  Thanks.

I had them on my CG8, and didn't like them on that small short scale guitar.  I have the low tension sc strings on the D12 and F model sc guitars and they are wonderful.  I have the medium tension SC strings on a Takamine dread and they also will stay there.

I think the small body short scale doesn't work with them but the bigger guitars will keep them.

That's disappointing to hear regarding the short scale. I just ordered the low tension to try on my new 712-12fret.  I am experimenting with different strings trying to add a little better bass.

You might want to try DR Rare strings to add some bass.  That's what I used on my 12-fret short-scale GC, and they were excellent.

DR's new Veritas strings are terrific, IMHO.  Last like Elixirs without the coating.  Using them on my short scale custom GC with great results.

That sounds good.  I'm adding them to my list.
