Hey everyone, I have a beautifully flamed GS mini Koa. Unfortunately, it is starting to show wear in the top where I pick, and it is also getting quite a sheen in that area, which detracts from the overall beauty of the top. These come standard without a pick guard, I assume so none of the beautiful Koa is hidden away.
My thoughts are to add a Taylor pickguard specifically mini sized from the Taylor store, but I can't decide on whether to go black or tortoise. I am leaning towards black to match the fretboard, peg head, etc, but wanted to ask the collective wisdom of the forum for your thoughts? Thanks in advance...

If I HAD to put on a pg, I think I'd go with the black one, for the reasons you mentioned.

The all wood ones do look nice. Not sure how hard they would be to attach and remove in the future? The wood could clash maybe...probably overthinking it.

I think the tortoise would would make it look to busy. There is so much nice wood grain variation on your top that the black would be a better choice.

Taylor do the clear plastic static cling pickguards.
I have them on a couple of mine.

I don't think these static pg's work on satin tops, only gloss.

I've got a black GS mini pick guard on the way for my GS Mini Koa. Black is my pick.
