Does anyone know where I can buy a Taylor V-Cable please ?
I found a couple on Amazon but very expensive.
All the other online stores no longer carry them.
Has it been discontinued ?

With the advent of the Mini-e guitars, I suspect the V-Cable has been discontinued; the V-Cable was really more intended for use with the old ES-Go pickup for the GS Minis.
Second-hand sources (e.g., eBay, Craig's List), or places with NOS supplies are going to be your best bets. When I picked up one for my GS Mini (ES-Go installed) I got mine on sale at Guitar Center, as I recall. And they were a bit pricey even then...

Thanks Tim,
Yes, I see what you mean.

I bought mine a few months ago from MF but they aren't listed any more. I think it is a over priced piece of junk. I would not recommend it anyway.

Thanks guys
I just installed a Es-Go in my GS Mini.
I'll try other solutions.
Appreciate the thoughts.

I think it was on the Taylor site today, fwiw

Thanks Dave,
I have been on the Taylor site but they don't ship to my part of the world.
Annoying. >:(

Hi there Paul,
Bummer that Taylor doesn't ship to where you live. But in the case of this cable, no love lost there, IMHO. I'll concur that it is a poor cable, and overpriced at any price, IMHO. Simply buy yourself a good guitar cable (not Monster, IMHO) and you're good to go, not to mention have a more reliable connection that likely won't fail you under use.

Thanks Edward,
It looked like a neat solution to go with the ES-Go I just installed.
I have lots of guitar cables so not to worry.

I agree that the V-Cable isn't the best guitar cable out there, not even by a stretch. But it does have one advantage when used with the ES-Go pickup: you can adjust the signal volume without having to reach (or walk) over to your amplifier. The signal from the ES-Go seems weak, probably because it hasn't got a pre-amp in it like the ES systems; so having a volume knob on the cable is kind-of handy. But other than that, there's really little to get excited about with the V-Cable...
In the end there may be similar (volume-control) cables out there that do a better job at signal transmission than the V-Cable; it might be wise to shop a bit before buying anything.

Listen to every one here Paul, I bought one for my Mini and when you turn the volume up it dead ends and stops .I didn't force it and one day it just went round and round . Not impressed and the price is way out of line ,don't bother .

I know this is an old thread, but I got on this forum looking, because this is the exact problem I had. I hadn't used it in maybe a couple of years. It just sat in a closet and the volume know doesn't stop anymore. Has anyone else had this problem and did they call customer service about it? I just don't know whether to bother or not.

I tried a V Cable once upon a time and was greatly disappointed. It is no more than a potentiometer intergrated into a cable... for a lot of money. There are two other solutions, one much cheaper and one a bit more expensive, but better.
My first solution was simply taking a guitar potentiometer and a couple jacks and building my own volume control box. The enclosure was simply an empty Altoids mint box. I could rubber band it onto my strap or clip it to the music stand and it was easily accessible. I even modded the original design with a treble bleed circuit. And while it was great for that purpose, the same as the V Cable. But alas, it had no tone control.
I found I didn't want to simply dial back the volume, but have more control over my volume, tone and gain. I elected to buy a Baggs GigPro mini external pre amp. On my non Taylor acoustics I use a Seymour Duncan Woody XL soundhole pickup and this pre-amp does what I need it to do. A bit heavy, but it is a robust system with metal enclosure. There are others cheaper, lighter and smaller. https://www.amazon.com/LR-Baggs-Beltclip-Preamp-Passive/dp/B001E95KEW (https://www.amazon.com/LR-Baggs-Beltclip-Preamp-Passive/dp/B001E95KEW)

I recently sold my mini. I told the guy who bought it I had a v-cable I would throw in but that it was a pos. Never worked right, right out of the package Taylor should be embarrassed and ashamed.
