Road Shows for the year kick off in Phoenix tonight. Stop 2 is here in Tucson tomorrow. Can't wait to check out the new stuff. Got to get my hands on the Blackwood/Hog 300's
-
That's the same guitar I most want to try next also. I'd love to hear your impressions when you get to play one.
-
I grabbed a 2016 322ce about a month ago and love it! Not sure on the larger bodies but on the GC the blackwood/hog combo is sweet!
-
Personally I'm glad there are no Road Shows coming to Boise any time soon. Last time I impulse bought the 615ce jumbo, because it was the last one they had, or likely ever will have. It is listed for sale right now.
I hope you enjoy the RS! They are always fun (if a little dangerous to the wallet). :o

This will be RS #6 for me. I've always gone just for the entertainment value, and a little education. This time I'm truly in the hunt, with a rare blessing from the spouse. Dangerous situation for the bank account.
-
I've been to six Road Shows over the years too (including one in Tucson several years ago) but only bought a guitar at the last one. Dangerous places indeed..... Good luck in your quest.

Got my true Holy Grail guitar at a road show (custom Taylor GC ). Been to at least 6, maybe 8. More if you include "find your fit" events
-
I've been to 3 of them, I think. They always give out goodies. First time I won picks, second time a set of sound hole coasters, and the third time I won a t-shirt. They usually give out sets of Elixirs, but I haven't scored any yet.
It's cool to see the demos and to try out the guitars you would never to to try otherwise.
-
I'd love to try out the new 12F-12sting in cedar!

Attended the Road Show tonight. Not many of the newest models featured. Pretty much the same show as last year. First the different shapes. All using the 800 series. Then tone wood differences. Rosewood, hog, maple and koa, all using GS bodies. Not sure why they ignore 300 and 400 series guitars. Marc Seal was great, as always. Several cool customs. One, a Andy Powers build. Signed on the label.
They did have a Lutz Spruce 516. Very nice. I did get to play that one for a few minutes.
The 552 was sweet sounding in Marc's hands. I did not play it. Most popular for the petting zoo time.
I thought the best sounding guitar of the night was the 616ce. Very close 2nd was the 816ce.
No Blackwood 300's. The store got one in, and sold it before the show.
I spoke to the Taylor rep, and also the store sales guy. I now have a 322e 12 fret Blackwood hog coming, sometime within the next two weeks.

Congratulations on the incoming. I would love to try out a 322 12th fret. I also want to try out that 552 or 562 12th fret, and now that you said that it is sweet sounding I want to give it a go even more. Sounds like you had a good time, hope you picked up some good swag.

I've never had a 12, and have only tried a few. About all I know to do with one is strum basic chords. Well, Marc Seal demo'd some stuff he said he'd never been able to do on 12's before this one. He played the entire neck, and did almost everything he does on a 6 string. Noticed he did not do any bending, which he tends to do a lot.
I got to escape the crowd and took a 322e 12 fret sapele to another room. Had a good 15 min. quiet session with it. I will have a choice between the two, when the blackwood comes in.

E-mail from district rep just now. 322e shipped today from El Cajon. Only a 6 hour drive from Tucson!
-
I'm looking forward to the show in town here, but I egos to wait until the end of June. The waiting is the hardest part.

March 31st in West Chester PA. I'm almost afraid to go (after $12K in Taylors the last 8 months).
Although I can't imagine seeing anything as nice as the "Milagro" Brazilian Rosewood guitars listed around the web...
