Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is John and I am new to the forum and relatively new to Taylor guitars. A few years ago, I had the opportunity to play a Taylor for the first time. It was a 714ce. I fell in love with it, but couldn't afford to buy it. A few months ago, through a very generous gift, I was able to purchase my Taylor 314ce. I can't put the thing down! Anyway, good to be here.

Welcome John, glad you joined us. Congrats on your new 314ce! The 300 series is a great value......solid wood, Taylor quality and playability, great price.

Thanks, Taylorgirl. It's good to hear you say that about the 300 series. I often get frustrated with other Taylor owners playing down the 300 series as if they are somehow inferior. As far as I'm concerned, it's an amazing instrument. I'm also a big believer in the idea that the best guitar for a person is the guitar a person will actually play. ;)

Last time I checked you can't get sound out of abalone so congrats on your fine 314. The x14 series is just so versatile.

Welcome John . You can go pretty far with that 314. Dollar for dollar, it's among the best available. Enjoy!

Hi John. Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your 314 - great choice. (and I don't think you'll get too many on here playing down the 300 series)

I actually prefer the tone of the 3xx and 4xx series. They may lack the bling, but for me, the tone is the most important aspect of a guitar. Enjoy yours! :)

Hi John,
Welcome to the forum. Lots of 300 love here. I have 2 314ce's(one Sapele, one Rosewood) and they really make me smile. My 2004 just keeps getting better with age and yours will too. Enjoy the music.
