We cannot discuss prices here, per forum rules. Try searching eBay or Reverb.com for completed sales. Someone here might also PM you if they happen to know, but I don't have much idea.

Thanks Earl. I didn't realize this.

No problem Woodknot. Many people don't realize the policy until they find the moderators xx'ing out the numbers. I sometimes don't get it either and it can be inconsistently applied at times. But since we don't own the forum, we play by the established rules.
The guitar in question sounds intriguing, BTW. I lusted after a 714 cedar / rosewood for several years but never pulled the trigger. Then they stopped making that combination a few years ago.

The best I could find was two mentions in forums of people picking up 90's 712's. One paid about what a new 214ce cost. The other was priced about like a 214ce DLX. There is a '93 812-c listed for sale right now at about a 214ce Koa DLX street cost.

Could be a great find, if priced right and very good condition. Do you play fingerstyle?

Thanks folks,
To offer a little info...the guitar belongs to my sister who is a singer/songwriter in Seattle. She's owned it since 1994, and I've played it many, many times. It is one of those special guitars that must have been sprinkled with fairy dust during its build, because its tone is sweeter and richer than any other 712 that I've ever played. In fact, I sold my Gibson J-200 and bought my 95 Taylor GAWS (Grand-auditorium Walnut/spruce) after the first time that I played it. It was the first Taylor that I ever played, and I told her back then that if she ever decided to sell it, I would buy it.
Well, she has fallen in love with a vintage Gibson, and asked me if I was still interested in buying The 712. I have played my GAWS less and less over the last year because I've been having right shoulder issues, and it's too painful. I think that the smaller body of the 712 might allow me to play more. She hasn't decided what to do yet, and asked me to do some research and find out what the fair market value is. She may decide that she can't let the 712 go, or she may decide that she connects with the ghosts in the vintage Gibson. If she chooses the latter, I'll keep the 712 in the family.
Thanks for all your help, Folks

What, no home team discount for you, Joel? I'm thinking the value of 100 packs of elixir strings at guitar center.

Is that 100 packs bought from my brother, or someone that I don't know? :)

How confusing; my brother's name is Joel.
