We already have a beautiful family of Taylor guitars 6s and 12s, but I would dearly love to add a 955 12-string to the collection.
955-L7 (2004) would be my dream, but I doubt that will ever become available - so would be happy to know of ANY 955 for sale.
Thanks

Ask and you shall receive: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Taylor-955-12-String-Jumbo-Body-/111606955154?pt=Guitar&hash=item19fc4afc92 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Taylor-955-12-String-Jumbo-Body-/111606955154?pt=Guitar&hash=item19fc4afc92)
Before you get too excited about it, there is some minor, but apparent, cosmetic damage, which is disclosed by the seller. Probably could be repaired, but it doesn't seem to have greatly affected the seller's asking price... ???

Thanks timfitz
I've now put that one on my watch list...

Just a friendly bump to keep you in the mix. Good luck on your hunt for a 955 12-string. Have you ever tested a Koa 12-string?
-
Thanks for that.
I have indeed tried a Koa 12 (thanks for the suggestion) and, beautiful though it was, the sound was bright (perhaps a bit too bright for even my taste) and lacking a little 'maturity' in the balance... can't think of a way to describe it, but the 12s in our collection have that to some degree - bottom end that blends but retains a growl too.
Current 12s are:
- "Missy": 855 Indian Rosewood, Spruce
- "Chalise":Custom Jumbo 12 Cocobolo, Spruce
- "Jackson": 954CE-L7 Brazilian Rosewood, Spruce

Another 955 for your consideration, Jimmy:

This one has a scratched finish, which can probably be repaired if it's bothersome -- and you can get it at the right price. Also, the seller states that he will not sell outside of the United States. Not sure how that might affect your interest or ability to buy...

Thanks timfitz
The care and support from you and this community is astounding.
I could live with that scratch on the lower side (but would probably want it repaired by Taylor or authorised person) - this one is now on my watch list, and I'll contact the seller re international shipping... perhaps an option might be to have it shipped to Taylor in El Cajon for scratch repair, full service and retro-fit of Expression System if possible. Then have it shipped home to me.
Yup, that will make it more expensive but, to get what you want, if that's what it takes so be it.

Possibly have a 955 in my sights - may pull the trigger tomorrow. ::)
Wish me luck.

Tried numerous times to post picks in this msg, but failed miserably - managed 3 pics in a new NGD post:
