They had a Sassafras guitar at the Road Show I went to last night. Fantastic sound! Just my opinion but I'm not much for its looks though. But it sure does sound great.

I got to try one out too....I thought they sounded great. More bottom end. The looks really vary. I love most wood grains, because that's just Mother Nature at work.

I've got one: the 712e 2014 FLTD. It is just wonderful IMO. More bottom and top than Mahogany, without the muddiness and booming you can get with Rosewood.
Lookswise I guess it may not be to everybody's taste but it is 100% natural and each one is going to be different. I have grown to really appreciate mine.

I'll say it again. Of all the guitars that were played at the Road Show the sassafras was the one that, right at the first note, immediately got my attention. From the small amount of playing I heard the tonal range is very wide and clear. The difference between it and other woods, at least the ones played before and after it, was very apparent.

Would really like to play one some time.
Since it has the new bracing, would you describe the sound as more "vintage" like the new bracing on the 2014 800 series? Or does this guitar retain that old Taylor sparkle?

Saw it at a roadshow also...liked the tone and really liked the looks, it was one of the more striped versions.
