I've got this storage problem with my guitar. When the battery dies, and it's plugged in, it makes an obnoxious and very loud buzzing sound. I'm not sure if this is a common problem or not, but I was hoping you guys could help me pinpoint the problem.
Also just for clarification, this is the 9v powered ES-T.

i would suggest removing the battery if the guitar is not going to be played for a while -
the ES-T preamp has a LED battery indicator, which lights up when the cable is plugged in,
but unlike the LED on the older fishman barndoor preamp, which was a low battery indicator
if it stayed illuminated when the guitar was plugged in, the ES-T LED shows there is power,
but it doesn't not indicate how long the battery will be good for (on the ES, it's about 40 hr)
a battery tester that shows the capacity of the battery, in addition to voltage would be a good idea, imho

hope this helps

Do you mean that when you play it with a dead battery it makes the bad sound, or just plugged in, not playing it?

Plugged in and playing with a nearly dead battery at first. Then after it gets really dead, it just puts out a constant buzzing sound.
