Title: Chicago Concert
Post by: Lizzy on May 22, 2014, 03:21:12 PM
My husband and I went to see Chicago last night and I'd just like to say they were fantastic. They played 2 sets for a total of 2 1/2 hours. They were an unstoppable wall of sound and energy and very appreciative of the audience. They used two different acoustics among their varied collection of instruments, both Taylor's. For anyone that might think this band is so old they might not have what it takes anymore....well, they've got it and more!

I didn't even know Chicago was touring.  I saw them in concert back in 1985, during their Chicago 17 tour.  The girl I was dating at the time insisted on going, mainly because of the commercial success they were having with their 17 album, but frankly I wasn't looking forward to the concert -- for essentially the same reasons...  But they brought the horn section (which seemed largely omitted from their 17 album), opened the show with "24 or 6 to 4," played a lot of their old hits --  and only played a few of the radio hits from 17.  I thought it was a great show, but my girlfriend was disappointed.
