I was thinking today that it might be cool to have a hog-topped 12 string but then wondered how Taylor would number it. They chose to use a "2" in the middle position to designate a hog top, but that's also the position where Taylor designates a six string (1) from a 12 string (5)...

A 500 series 12 string will surely be a part of Taylors line up. Just a guess hear but how about 526-12 string. Similar to the 522-12 fret.
-
The middle number becomes a "6". So a 566 would be a mahogany-topped GS if it were a standard model.

yep, you gots it :)
there is a 556ce model, but there isn't a mahogany top substitution
shown on the SMO list, just as there is a 316, but no 326 as of yet -
a 366 would be pretty fun, imho, or a 364, as a LTD model 8)

Yeh, I was thinking a 366 would be pretty cool...

Still waiting on the 12-fret 12 string...

Can't say I have ever heard of one of those. Just does not seem right to me. 12th fret, short scale, 12 string. not sure if that would work?? ???
