Are there many 915ce owners out there. I just in the last month got one from a lady whose husband passed away 5 years ago, and was now ready to part with it. It's a beautiful guitar and just like new, my 1987 510 now has to take a back seat to it, but love them both!
-
Congrats on your new Taylor. Could you post some pics for us.....would love to see it.
-
I hope this picture comes through, my first attempt to download a picture.
-
As you can see the first owner had a pickgaurd put on it.
-
Wow, very beautiful. How about the back?
I think I'd put a Taylor pickguard on it. They look better IMHO.
-
Very nice! But I'd have to agree with TaylorGirl about putting a Taylor PG on it. Would cost about as much as dinner for two,,,, at McDonalds.
-
I have a Taylor pickgaurd that was given to me when I took my 510 into in El Cahon to have them look at pickgaurd on it. There are some small air bubbles under it but was advised to leave it alone, as it would no longer be original. I have talked to Dave at Oldtown Strings in Victoria and he said he could do the one on 915 for me.
Here is a picture of the back.

Very nice! Looks to be a fine specimen. Congrats!
-
Nice! I like the headstock inlay.
-
Indeed, that would definitely make me a happy picker!! :)
Congrats as that is a fairly rare bird, not to mention a great-looking guitar despite its rarity. Enjoy that baby in good health! :)

Very nice indeed!! Enjoy...

Beautiful guitar! Thanks for posting the pics for us. We love Taylor pics around here. Enjoy it!

Beautiful guitar with its own history. I would keep it, like it is. In one or two centuries it will be THE collector's item - a Taylor with a teardrop! And isn't that what it is? You must be a happy picker.
-
Love the body shape. Enjoy.
-
That is a very nice Taylor. I bet it really sings. ;)
-
It has a strong voice, you don't have to play it hard to make it talk. The tear drop pickgaurd would not have been my choice, but will stay for a while.
-
Beautiful guitar....I hope you enjoy!
-
It's kind of a love triangle between my two Taylor's and my Morgan DR..........love em all!

Hi Happypicker, I'm a 915c owner, I ordered mine in the fall of 2004. got it with a florentine cutaway and no electronics. the 2004 came standard with engelmann tops. The 915 is like thunder, Loud and clear. just one of my favorites.
Congrats on your 915ce. I don't care what others say about the newer taylor acheving a better bass tone , Nothing has the same vib and the jumbos deep.
Believe it or not . I don't have any photo's I can post of this guitar. Their are some in the AGF photo album, I can transfer as a link here you go check it out.
Enjoy :)

That is a nice collection of Taylor's. We played at a retirement home last night and there were a few guitar players sitting with the old folks listening to us, they were very impressed with the look and sound this guitar. I was plugged into the P A system and it did sound nice if I do say so myself.
-
Congrats on the guitar. Sounds you've already bonded with it! :)

Redwood that is a awesome collection of the 900 series. Wow!

Thanks mgap... This was a once in a life time photo op. and I took it.
Only three of these 5 remain. and the Jumbo is ONE.

Here you go Taylorgirl, I took your advice, the 915 with Teardrop pickgaurd gone and a Taylor one in it's place, looks much better. There is a bit of a tan line on it but I can live with it.

Now THAT'S a Taylor! It is such a beautiful guitar and with the right pickguard it just completes it. Don't you think it screams Taylor now? Very nice!

I've had that pickguard in the case with my 510 for years, as I was going to change it. There are a couple of small air bubbles under the gaurd on on the 510. I had the people at Taylor look at it and was advised to not change it, as it would no longer be original??? Anyway they gave this one to me in case I wanted to change it in the future........ it has a good home now.

This is the amp I use when playing out. It does a good job of reproducing the acoustic sound of the 915ce and my Morgan DR. It is a Traynor AM150 Acoustic master. Every time I take the Taylor out of it's case the Morgan sheds a tear.
