Title: hello from Upstate NY
Post by: stepchildusmc on June 23, 2013, 07:33:41 AM
Greetings from Upstate NY ( the last little-known refuge of woolly mammoths, Elvis and Jimmy Hoffa - if you never want to be found, you come here).
just ordered Taylor # 3 from Gracewinds in Oregon( only place that was honest to me about tayor's summer sale).... a Honey Sunburst 616ce. My other 2 are a newly aquired '13 spring ltd and a '08 Hot Rod. it took me a while to really appreciate the Taylor sound but it grew on me after a few years( i play more heavy rock stuff usually... not normally Taylor land).
I've recently sold off my collection of guitars including a K10ce. too many for one horrible player. Only non taylor i kept was my wonderful Adamas 2080sr.
i hope to glean glean some useful information about Taylors here and hopefully share some fun and humor( i tried to be serious once....didn't take)

Welcome aboard stepchild...I've lived in the Brewster/Patterson NY area, but I sense that you're farther upstate than I was. I do have some wooly mammoth tusk bridge pins on one of my Taylors if that helps. Enjoy your stay...good people with good knowledge here....

Hi stepchildusmc. Welcome to the UTGF.  :)

Just yesterday, I met an Upstate NY transplant. He's co-owner of White Rabbit Brewing Co., located in lovely Angier, NC. Things must be really bad in upstate NY... ;)

 Enjoy the site.  ;D

-20 in the winter and 95 with 100% humidity in the summer...what's not to love? ( and the mosquitos bite with little french accents...eww !) rained out of golf 4 of 5 attempts so far. 2 1/2 hr trips to a decent music shop, every freaking thing you could want is hidden by trees !
and to think that 2 years ago, i could have picked any place in the country to live....i chose here.

I politely declined the orders that would have sent me to Plattsburg AFB. I opted to stay put in Madrid, Spain (Torrejon AB) for an extra year. Those were the days.
