Hello to all! Just want to introduce myself. I am a state trooper by vocation, and a sometimes-frustrated musician by avocation!
My wife and I have traveled and sung gospel music for 26 years in the Midwest. We are published songwriters and have been blessed to have had several national groups/artists record our stuff.
I have played guitar since the age of six. (I'm 54) I am focusing more and more on fingerstyle, and was recently in one of the local music stores and saw a Taylor GC3 in the acoustic room, took it off the wall and began to play it. Having long thought that I would like to have a smaller bodied steel-string that I could use on stage (I have a Baby Taylor - fun for certain situations, but not a performance guitar IMHO), I quickly fell in love with the guitar. The owner of the store was present at the time and he uttered those magic words: "I'd make you a real deal on that one!" Long story short, I ended up putting a good down payment on it last week and I am going to go get her out of hock at the end of the month. I will post pictures when I bring her home! Any thoughts on that particular guitar are welcome. I look forward to getting aquainted with everyone!

Welcome flatfoot. The Taylor GC's are wonderful to play. I just got a 512ce myself. The smaller body is so comfortable and they have a huge voice, despite their size. I used to have a 300 series Taylor.....they are impressive. Glad you joined us, enjoy your time here. Looking forward to pics of your new GC3...congrats!

Thanks Taylorgirl!
I am excited to get a new axe! I will need to have some kind of electronics installed - I am fond of the L.R. Baggs stuff - have an active I-Beam in my Yairi DY85. I am leaning toward the new Lyric internal mic.

Hi Flatfoot! :) Personally my favorite Taylors tonally are the 3xx and 4xx series and don't think you can go wrong with either. The GC size is comfortable to hold while offering some amazing sound. Excellent choice! :D
