If you go to a Taylor Road Show, you'll hear them refer to Ovangkol as the "secret weapon" of tonewoods. Not a lot of builders use it, but it has a great sound; somewhat reminiscent of Rosewood.

Congrats on your new-to-you 410. Would love to see pics after you get it cleaned up. I love my 414.....truly a secret weapon, as Nomad said.

Taylor uses elixir nano lights for strings.

they have videos on YouTube.com on their website to show you how to clean the fretboard.

basically linseed oil and fine steel wool.

let me know if u need help

Taylor uses elixir nano lights for strings.

I don't have a Taylor Dread, but according to Elixir's FaceBook page, they use Mediums on x10.
