got a really good deal on a 214ce Friday and have been playing it most of the weekend. I noticed a bruise last night on the area of my strumming arm that wraps around the guitar. My guess is because the 214 is wider and deeper than my OM-21, but it's not like I was banging my inner arm against the guitar body. I don't normally bruise easy. Maybe it's a vitamin deficiency ???? Anyone else had this happen to you???

congrats on the 214ce-BLK & thanks for sharing the pic :D
looking at the pic of your arm, it looks like the very center of the bruise is a good
bit darker than the surrounding area, which is redder, which could be caused an
maybe an isolated trauma of some sort that was then further aggravated (just a guess) -
i'm not a doctor & i don't play one on tv, but i did stay at a holiday inn express once ;)
i haven't experienced an insect bite or an abrasion with that type of coloration, so to me it seems like
the tissue below the surface of the skin was affected (like a blood blister from an extreme 'pinch')
looking around the interwebs to find out the correct term for the
area opposite the elbow ('inner elbow ??? ) is called, i ran across this -
'The anticubital fossa is the space anterior to the elbow.
The anticubital vein is the one we like to stick for blood.'
have you had your 'oil' checked lately ???

Louie, congrats on your new 214ce and welcome to our site.
Playing a guitar shouldn't bruise your arm like that, unless you have some sort of medical condition. I don't know if playing guitar for extended periods of time could cause that type of bruising, but something obviously did. Unless the guitar finish has stained your arm, keep an eye on things (swelling, tenderness, etc.) and see a doctor if need be.

Yep, I had blood drawn just this last Tuesday!!!!!! that's probably it!!!!! thanks for the research :)

Ah-ha! I wondered whether that might be the case. It looked to me like the edge of the guitar just redistributed blood from another bruise. I guess that is so!
