Title: Retiring...
Post by: flaggerphil on December 15, 2011, 10:05:23 PM
After 40 years and six months I'm finally retiring from my profession the end of this month.  'Bout time, I think.

Congrats Sir!  Well deserved I'm sure!  Now you'll have time to come up with different types of BTO's etc...  ;)

What did you do for a living?

Congratulations on your retirement.  40 + years indicate you were dedicated to your chosen profession.  Enjoy your retirement with many strums upon your guitars.

Way to go.  :)  I made 32.5 and never looked back.

One thing you will find after a little while, is how you ever had the time to go to work!

Congrats!

Congratulations, Phil! Oh, the stories you could tell - about the changes you've seen in the way things are done in your profession, about the changes in your perspective on what things are important and not, about where you want to live and how...

Better yet, put such things into song and let us hear 'em!

Congrats on retiring.
It's not important what the job was, but that you did it well and left on your terms at a time you felt it was best to go.
Happy Retirement.

Congrats on your retirement. I did the same a little over a year ago and haven't looked back. As many will tell you, I wish I'd gotten my financial house in better order, but after 30+ years as a Special Education Teacher, it was time to hang it up. I moved to my little cabin at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains just west of Charlottesville (down the road from Mary Chapin Carpenter and the setting for the movie Evan Almighty). I'm teaching adult education on a part-time basis, playing the guitar, watching the critters that come to my window, and just enjoying life. Hope you do the same....

I didn't pass the audition...

"Whoa! The diet-aids aisle is that way!"

"Sorry, lady, The Ugly Baby Contest is next week."

"Matching neck tattoos - how romantic!"

"Got the munchies, huh?"

"When are you due? Oh, sorry, sir."

"Here, you're gonna need a shopping cart. Any two of those have the same father?"

 ;)

Being retired is my favorite job so far.

As for me no retirement yet, but I am getting tired.

Congratulations on your retirement.  Let me guess you were a WWF world champion
