Just wondering if anyone has had the chance to play the Mahogany back and sides with the Cedar top Grand Concert that came out earlier this year. I'd like to hear your review.

Is there something new about the GC5 (512)? I wasn't aware. I have an R. Taylor Style 2 in cedar/mahogany that's the same shape and woods. Simply sublime, and surprisingly much volume across all strings.

It was introduced at the NAMM show in January. Is the GC5 a 12 fret? The one I'm talking about is a 12 fret. Outside of that, not sure what difference there might be.

I have the 14-fret GC5, which is cedar over mahogany. I've never played a Taylor I like better. From what I've heard about Taylor's 12-fret models, a 12-fret GC5/512 should be a delight.

Are you referring to this model?

I played 12 fret Taylor 2011 Spring limited (Cedar + Macassar Ebony) before, it has very nice bass to compliment Taylor's treble.
