Love the bursts on 600 series models! What an awesome first guitar...enjoy that thing.

hi steve
that sure is a great choice to start out with,
if you don't mind my saying so :)
very nice :D
thanks for sharing the pics &
WELCOME !

That is one sweet looking guitar. Enjoy!
-
Wow, that is a heck of a way to start what we all hope will be a never ending love of guitars for you.
I know there are many people around here that wish our first guitars would have played as nice as a Taylor. I had some piece of junk with action so high you could drive a truck under it.
Enjoy, its a beauty!

That made me literally LOL. My first was like that too - the truck probably would have belonged to UPS.

there's always slide, wall-art or one's first attempt at a neck reset/bolt-on neck conversion -
i'd like to think that no matter how bad something is, there is something good in it somewhere :)

Awesome! I love the burst. You'll find that there are many maple lovers here, and I'm proud to say I'm one of them.
-
steve-wv,
I thought the burst finish on my guitar was near the top. That was before I saw your 614. You have what I think is the best finish I have seen to date.
-
Incredible burst - wonderful guitar - ENJOY!!!

Yeah, I think we can all recall that first guitar. At least mine was my grandfather's ...that alone made it a nice one. But other than that... :)
Man oh man ...if that's your first guitar, I'm staying tuned in; you're gonna kill us with your next ones!! You sure know how to make an entrance ;)
Gorgeous guitar, friend ...enjoy that beauty in health and happiness!

Fortunately, this Forum is blessed with some real experienced Taylor owners, even experts, who can look at your pictures and know exactly which model that is. I'm definitely not one of them as I am waiting on my first Taylor.
So, I give up: exactly which model is that? I at least can see the maple figuring on the back, and that it is a CE, but that's as far as I can go in identifying it.
It is a real beauty and I congratulate you for your choice, and for having the wisdom to start your musical life with a good instrument. I'm one who, like many, started with a truly lousy instrument (a Sears Silvertone---its almost embarrassing to say it) many years ago, and then "saw the light" after 6 mos. or a year......but that's another story!
-
Awesome way to get into playing the guitar! By the way, thanks for the GAS. I just bought my 814ce and thanks to you I want one like yours! ::)

I'm gonna' go out on a limb and say it's a 614ce...

Congrats, it's beautiful! I am jealous, though. It was 29 years after starting guitar before I got my first full sized Taylor. I did have a couple real nice guitars before my first Taylor, but Taylor started only 1 year after I started playing. Hope you enjoy your new Taylor. Be sure to take good care of it.
