From my 12 Fret BTO. They did a great job with the Coco overlay IMO.

Thanks Redwood - me too! I love the fact that they inlayed the logo in maple rather than MOP - not available in the BTO program for acoustic steel strings (believe me, I've tried!)

I thought the green heart abalone "Taylor" on this one was special along with the Macassar Ebony bound with Coco.

I think there are few things more classy or more elegant that a well-done slotted headstock ...and Taylor certainly does theirs well. Gorgeous!

The detail in the blue actually makes this look like it is made out of material! Such incredible detail! :D

Ahh, the Liberty, yes? That is one of my all-time favorite headstocks and whole-guitar-inlay work ever. There are plenty of other guits with lots of "bling," but the Liberty offers detail that inspires awe in me.

Finally got around to editing and uploading some pics, so I thought I'd include an entry here.
First, the 2011 916ce:

And then the '08 GS custom with the cocobolo overlay...:

It's not mine... (yet! I need one!) I believe it's just the standard sitka/rosewood 12-fret.

This one is from a K24. Love the simple elegance of the koa vine and flowers inlay. The wood inlay for the Taylor logo is nice too.

To clarify ... I meant glitz ... relative to being a fav headstock! :o

oh, i gotcha ... as-in, no backstrap or anything
there'd be much less room for a signature on a headstock like this, though ;)

I have to admit to being nerdy: I've got two headstocks with Bob and his sharpie on the back. Makes them more "personal" for me :)

Does Bob sign the back of the headstock on the limited models?

Does Bob sign the back of the headstock on the limited models?
No sir. You kinda got be at the right place at the right time with guit in hand. For me that was at the factory.
On one of them, he quipped that if you end up hating me later, the sharpie comes off with naptha ...yeah, like I'd someday instantly hate such a stellar guitar. Gotta love the self-effacing humor! It was a very cool talking to "the guy" who started it all, yet he comes off very much like a guy who simply digs guitars! :)

Could this be a possible new realm for Taylor headstocks? ... let's hope not!
