I absolutely love it when I'm playing my Taylor...it literally feels alive. I'm not talking about sound...(it sounds like heaven) but when one plays full chords etc...the wood vibrates and wow.
It's like it has a soul of its own. It's the beautiful combination of sound, feel, wood and steel. 8)

What's amazing to me is that I feel great about all my Taylors from the oldest to the newest, each for their own uinique qualities, but more importantly for the consistent thread running through them all:
1. quality (fit and finish)
2. tone (sparkle and balance)
3. playability (fastest neck in the west!)
4. beauty (just breath taking!)
No other brand of guitar has ever treated me this well. Thank you, Taylor!

Wood and steel. Now that has a nice ring to it.

Yup. Tone is one thing, but literal "feel" is the clincher for me.
For acoustics certainly, but for electrics too, the ones I 've kept have both tone and that lively feel that is tactile against my hands and body. The ones I've sold may have had great tone, but didn't have enough of that physical "liveliness" that simply makes a guitar special.

Agreed ... as I put it, a Taylor guitar is inspiring ... I am convinced that it was my purchase of my first Taylor 6 years ago that reignited my passion for music ...

Taylor quality guitars ...
the sound & feel of wood & steel
that's pretty cool :D
Josh, are you sure that you're not an ad exec ???
97X ... BAM! ... the future of rock 'n roll ;)

+1 You guys certainly got it right. I spent better than 35 years playing guitars I thought were nice. Then, last year, I bought a Taylor! It has changed how I feel about my guitars and my music.

Same here: I played most well-known brands from when I began playing in my teens. I thought I had found the Holy Grail in Martin, and went through 10 different models over a 17-year period until I found my first Taylor (the '97 in my signature). Since then I've tried and bought a few other more expensive brands, but the Taylors have been the only consistently great guitars in my experience. It certainly makes shopping for the next one an easier process!

Not to put a damper on this, but I really prefer if the subject line actually state what the subject of the post relates to... The we would be better able to tell whether we want to open the string. Perhaps it hasn't been mentioned before, but...

Gotcha. ;) It's been fixed.

Wow thanks for the responsiveness!
I agree that in my opinion, Taylors shock my imagination and let my creative juices flow more than any other guitar I've played.
For example, my new SCC Signature just demands that I wirte something! It's so great to get that sort of "kick" from your guitar.

Couldn't agree more. Every time I sit down to play one of the herd, that first strum is like a sip of ice water one a hot Summer day -- The pause that refreshes...

I was recently A/B'ing some guitars at The Podium and it was interesting to notice that some of them vibrated and felt lively when other people were playing nearby.
They were obviously resonating from the ambient frequencies.
Was very cool!

I have noticed that my 114ce is one of the most resonant guitars I've owned ... I leave it out (keep my other Taylors in the their cases) ... even when I am playing another instrument in the room it will vibrate and the strings in the sympathetic frequency ranges will fill in some harmony ... :)

I played my first bunch of Taylors in small deluxe enclosed showroom with the walls completely lined with Taylor guitars. When the salesman came back the second time to check on me, I ask jokingly if he had some trick device installed in the room to make all the guitars sound wonderful. He smiled and pointed to all the guitars on the walls.
I fell in love with Ovangkol.

This truly is an age of great guitars...

It happened again last night. I just let the guitar ring and enjoyed the vibrations of the top (cedar in this case). Abosolutely stunning!
