This is Thomas Floyd Barron, my maternal grandfather (with guitar) and his brother-in-law, Vester Whitlock. They married sister, Bertie (my grandmother) and "Effie" Allen.
Everyone called my grandfather "T.F." (Thomas Floyd). He was born in 1896 and this picture was probably taken in Alabama circa early 1920's. T.F. was a steam shovel operator and his favorite singer was Jimmie Rodgers.
I keep this picture in my guitar case and see it every time I get my 310 out to play.

edit: Well, I posted it and the picture is HUGE. Maybe my son can show me how to resize it tomorrow

That's cool Madx!! i found out after I was grown that my maternal Grandfather,that I only remember as bed-ridden, was an accomplished fiddle player.
My paternal Grandmother's name was Effie,and her brother's name was Vester. You don't see those names anymore.

So would I. I went into a well known vintage guitar store in St. Louis with the picture and was told they needed better resolution to tell. Apparently there were many makers of parlor guitars during that time period.
I asked my surviving aunts whatever happened to the guitar. None of them fessed up to having it. One aunt had a hard to swallow look on her face when she said, "I have no idea what happened to it." (I remember him having one in 1969 just a couple of years before he died). One aunt admitted that her daughter has his fiddle. It's good to know it's still in the family. Maybe the guitar will reappear someday.

Yup an EKO 12 string I bought once I got to Germany. I donated it a year or two ago to a local high school music program. Served me well for many years despite being an all laminate tank of a guitar. :)

I bought mine in '71 or '72 while stationed in Italy. It is a laminate 12 string also. Yes, it is a tank of a guitar and very heavy.
My rosette has two thin lines, a ring of diamonds touching points, then two more thin lines. It looks like the fret markers are the same.

I the first picture that s ms picker has I had to take a second look, then again, the man in the long sleeve blue shirt is a dead ringer for my brother, who does not play.
