Tell me about your Grand Pacific. Gush about how much you love them. Link samples of yourselves performing with them. Tell me about your likes and dislikes. Do you prefer the Mahogany or Rosewood? have you had yours for a few years now, how has it grown on you? I'm thinking about picking one up as my main guitar for gigging, singer songwriter Americana open mic type stuff. I've played a few in stores and have always been impressed but I really would like to hear if they got the goods long term.

What strings did you settle on?

After my usual overly-extensive evaluations, I chose the D'Addario EFT16 Flat Top PB Lights for their warmth and minimal string noise.

I just wanted to bump this one and see if there are any GP Grand Pacific owners out there and how you are liking them after the initial hype has died down. I seriously think this might be my next guitar. I have liked all the one's I have played but I would like to choose my own pickup system. Which means buying sight unseen. I am hoping these are all fairly consistent.

Out of curiosity about that comment I went to the Taylor site to see what GP models were available without electronics. Turns out you have a real nice range of options to choose from - I was surprised. Don't know if the filters I applied will hold up in this link, but fwiw:

(btw: I can't offer information on your main question, but I bit on the GP buzz and have an AD17e Blacktop/Walnut on the way.)
