A friend brought me a Banjo to repair a broken headstock on.(I do Luthier repair on the side).
Never touched a banjo in my life.
It's a small drum with a neck on it.
Construction is very simple and basic.
Tuning is strange (5 string) open G chord.
It works thou. I found it real easy to play dueling Banjos on it.
It sounds like a banjo. Amazing.
I might have to get one.

I learned 5-string bluegrass (resonator) banjo in the 70's. I've enjoyed it, but always kept guitar and other instruments as my main instruments. It is fun and there are several styles to choose from.

Update, the owner of the Banjo is happy with it now and is active with on-line courses.
She's have fun with it and learning songs..
Makes me happy to hear it's not just hanging on a wall.

Good job Tom, sounds like you got her back on her banjo feet.
