Not completely sure of the protocol here since this is a Taylor forum but I am excited so I'm posting anyway. Acquired a Gibson J-45 TV from an AGF member last week and when I checked delivery status this morning it is being delivered 2 days early (today). I am ecstatic! ;D
Long before I became a Taylor owner this guitar has been on the wanted list. Can't wait to see how she stacks up!
Pics when she arrives.

hi cigarfan,
i just checked out the J45 TV on the interweb -
adi/'hog round shoulder, rosewood board & bridge :o
just wondering if yours will have the vintage burst or antique natural finish ???
i guess we'll see soon enough ;)
i played a hummingbird that was just amazing overall a few years ago & i still think
that i should have figured out a way to where it could follow me home, but i didn't :(
i was looking closer at your sig & noticed a couple of things -
the way that you have the gibson slotted in between the 2 Taylors, even though they're all in chronological order, i think
that from the tonal characteristics, i would have 'stacked' them that way in terms of overall response also, as i'd expect
the gibson to have a good bit more 'pop' than the GC koa & stronger projection than the mellower, 'darker' GS all 'hog
also, you have a guild dv4 (99) - i used to have a 97 model,
which i bought NOS & i owned it for a few years ... it was nice :)
can't wait to hear what your impressions are of the gibson - very cool 8)
congrats :D

I checked it out and found a picture of a tobaco sunburst colored one on Amazon.com. A real beauty! It looks just like my Guild D-50 but with a Gibson headstock 8)
Good luck with it.

Not here yet! Hard to be patient :P
The inbound TV is the vintage sunburst with Madagascar rosewood neck and bridge. Purty!
The DV4 came my way as a favor to a family member. She is living on a fixed income and needed the cash. Being family, when my wife mentioned it to me I agreed to pick it up sight unseen. Boy was I pleasantly surprised.

No more waiting. Now the only decision is which am I going to play?

You got it! Both of em'

Man that's a great pair of guitars!
Now all you need is a Martin in natural finish to cover all the bases, right? ;)
I think we need some real life photos of the two guitars now...
-
Looks sweet! That's a nice pair.
-
Which model is the Taylor? That's a beauty too! Is it a Fall Ltd Edition?

@ Jim
That is the 2011 Spring Limited Edition GS Mahogany ES. By far it has the richest sound of all in my collection.
Didn't have time to string the Gibson with a new set last night. Right now it has a set of John Pearse on it and it doesn't have the punch I expected. Pretty sweet none the less.
-
Thanks cigar. Which strings will you use on that beautiful Gibson?
I'm going to have to look into that Taylor!

Hey road:
I am going on the suggestion of the previous owner and some others on AGF that say D'Addario EXP Phosphor Bronze Coated work best on the J-45TV. After that I will probably experiment some. I have been partial to Elixirs for my Taylors.

Wow, that is a really nice Gibson. I got to tour the Bozeman acoustic factory last summer and it was great to see all those guitars being made - even got to see one of Jimmy Page's acoustic that was in for some work. I have several friends who are real Gibson fans and they were so jealous.......I brought them a hat tho' so they were good.
-
Congratulations on the Gibson. It is a really good looking guitar. Well, both of your guitars shown are nice 8) Enjoy.....
