Title: Now the wait...
Post by: Bo on July 19, 2020, 04:42:07 PM
I've been thinking about a new Grand Concert for a while and finally decided on a 912ce V-Class. After looking at pictures of every one I could find for sale across the country, I zeroed in on one at a well known shop in Colorado. I talked to them on the phone Friday and after viewing their hi-res photo's, I made the purchase. They offered me a great deal. I would have liked playing one first but there were none to be found in local shops. I do have a custom GC and another 900 series Taylor, so I have a fair idea what I'm getting. The shop is currently closed due to the virus. They are still making online sales but their people are mostly working from home, so it will take a few days to get it set up and shipped. And then a few more days to get to me here in Oregon. I'm hoping for a NGD late next week, or early the next.

Wow, that is exciting! I have been admirer of the 912 since the 90s. You're gonna love what V class bracing does to rosewood. Congrats in advance!

I absolutely love mine! I have the 912ce BE, WHB. After a set up and new strings, sound wise, it took a couple weeks of adjusting to the environment. Be patient! Mine is coming to life it seems daily! I was told these wake up in a few months and already mine is the only guitar I reach for now. Hope it comes soon! 8)

Glad to hear you like yours, Steelhead.  The 900 series BE's are gorgeous in pictures.  I haven't had a chance to play, or even see one in person yet.  But hopefully I'll get to check one out one of these days

Thanks TaylorGirl.  I'll let you know my impressions when it arrives.  I actually boosted the delivery date forward today.  The weather is so hot right now that I decided to have it shipped second day air, rather than ride halfway across the country in a FedEx truck.  It is now scheduled to arrive on Wednesday.

I once had a new guitar (non-Taylor) delivered in hot weather and it arrived with the pick guard lifting up from adhesive softened by the heat.

Probably a very good idea. Plus, you get it earlier!  :D

Thanks Zee.  It looks like you have a very nice collection of guitars.  But there's always room for one more...
