Title: Cleartone Strings

I am trying out some Cleartones on my Strat but have yet to try them on my Taylor's ... currently I use and like the Elixir Nano PB Lights (both for feel and tone) ... has anyone decided to switch to Cleartone PB's from Elixir PB's and why? ... just curious about opinions before I try them out ... thanks.

I was given a free set of Cleartone phosphor-bronze strings at the NAMM show and just put them on my Big Baby to try them. I was favorably impressed with them. The strings that had been on my Big Baby were D'Addario uncoated phosphor-bronze strings.

I swiched to Cleartones some time ago. Elixirs are ok but I didn't like the slimey feel of the polywebs, plus at the time the top strings weren't treated.

I went back to Elixir Nanos (less slimey!) when I couldn't get Cleartones - Elixirs are well marketed and sell well whereas Cleartones effectively priced themselves out of the market, at least locally.

Now however I'm using Martin Lifespans, which use Cleartone process. I am very happy with them, and probably staying with them. Nice feel, last ages and sound great.
