I think that banjo makes it a "BAS" attack....

To me, banjo music is mesmerizing and haunting.
I tried, however my right hand kept having train wrecks... :-\

i was looking & i was wondering if it was the correct link as well ???
i believe that is the first 5 string, open back guitar with a goat skin top that i've ever seen ;)

seriously though, i wonder if Taylor might  be considering the possible
expansion into other bluegrass instruments as well, as Bob plays 'em too :D

I told you this already (in another dimension)  8)

Check out the Deering Goodtime Open Back ... great bang for the buck IMO ... particularly if you're just getting started ... I've seen too many folks get infatuated with the banjo but never fall in love ...

That's frailing or claw-hammer banjo style.  Patrick Costello has several You-tube instructional videos and lots of printed material.  And a blog called The Daily Frail.

I kinda got hooked on him about a year ago, bought a banjo and gave it a try.   It's harder than it looks, and I have a major mental issue where I can't get my brain around hitting the high-pitched note with my thumb.  Need lots more practice.

I believe the banjo will be my next stringed instrument of choice, but I have to get a little better at the mando and uke first.  I like watching some of Steve Martins comedy/playing on youtube.  He's actually very good, not to mention very funny.

deposit went down on this today:

http://zeppmusic.com/Ubanjos/Standard_9l121601/standard_9l121601.htm

this shop is way cool, Marc will discuss and teach you a lot in a short time, lots of free videos and downloads on his site as well-enjoy.

here is the song that started all this, and Marc playing it on a Ramsey:

and one more Ramsey-same song:
