Happy Veteran's Day!
« on: November 11, 2020, 01:50:07 PM »
I'd like to offer my fellow Veterans a Happy Veteran's Day today. Anyone else care to join me?

I'm retired Navy: 1981-2001

It's hard to believe I've been retired almost as long as I was on active duty.

How many Vets do we have here?

Wow.

First, thanks, Donlyn, for your service.

Secondly, since I posted this thread yesterday, Donlyn was the only one to post. No one seemed too concerned with posting a simple "thank you" to Vets, despite the fact that there were 18 views of this thread.

But by God 18 posts were made in that silly music association game in that same amount of time.

I don't wear my service on my sleeve, but I think that's pretty freakin' sad...

I was drafted into the Marine Corps a year after I graduated from High School, bummer.
It's something that had to be done, I guess, but I'm glad  it was only 2 years as I had other plans for my future.
Lived in San Diego and didn't even know what a Marine looked like in uniform.

My parents were stationed in Pearl Harbor and both survived the December 7th attack, :) otherwise I wouldn't be here.

Thanks for your service, veterans. Your service is a stellar example of "love in action" for these United States. God bless!

Thanks to all who served. Let's also not forget their families because they make a great sacrifice, too.
