Title: From Mad to Sad To Glad
Post by: Minnesotaman on August 23, 2016, 06:29:30 PM
Today I called Taylor support to find out how much to upgrade my 2015 412r to the ES2 pickup. Very reasonable all things considered. Then I asked about the 416e I bought last month. I had to wait for the seller to get it in as it was backordered I ordered one with the ES2. So I wanted to know if that was the pickup in this 2014 build. Gave them the serial number and I was told no it was the 1.3. Now I'm mad that is not what I bought. Then I got sad 'cause I have had this guitar for over 6 weeks and figured I was stuck. So I called up the seller that gives you candy with your guitar and politely explained the issue. I explained the guitar was in MINT condition but not what I ordered. My sales engineer said no problem. they would send me a return label and when they got it they would send me a fresh 2016 perfectly set up all at their expense. I saw the guitar and the grain is almost identical maybe nicer. Now I am glad again! :)

That is a benefit of buy from a reputable dealer, some thimes the "sweet store" is not always the cheaper way to go but they stand by their business model. I'm thankful I never had any issues with my orders from them but it's nice to have the piece of mind. Glad it worked out for you.

Only one time have they not matched the lowest price I found and that was on my Fender acoustic amp. I've had no problems with the amp but you are right. For the fifty bucks I saved, I wish I would have bought from them just for the piece of mind.

I went to a very big sweet shop while I was in Indianapolis, there were lots of lovely confections there :-)

So far things have gone as planned. Yesterday my phone and doorbell rang almost at the same time Fed Ex at the door and the seller on the phone. Handed the guitar of to Fed Ex then called back my sales engineer. He wanted to know if the guitar had been picked up and said there was a hold on the one they had for me and would ship out when the old one arrived. They have handled this very well and will looking to buy my next new guitar from them. I should expect this type of service from them, I have bought 4 Taylors from them since December '15.
