Taylor 562ce w/Exp2 ground hum
« on: June 19, 2021, 10:22:49 AM »
I just bought a used 2018 Taylor 562ce with the Expression 2 system.  When I plug the guitar into something that is not earth grounded (i.e. a digital recorder; a VoiceLive effects box), there is a ground hum unless I touch the metal casing of the guitar cable.  Touching the strings does not make the hum go away.  There is no ground hum if I plug into a mixer, amp or other device that is grounded (3 prong cord).  I have several other Taylors (es version 1.2 or 1.3), and none of them have this ground hum problem, so it's not the wiring in my house or the wiring of the gear I am plugging into.

Based on these conditions and various posts I read on this site, it sounded like the fuse on the Expression 2 system was probably blown.  But I just removed the battery compartment/end pin and, unlike the pictures online on Taylor's site, there is no fuse on the circuit board.  Is there no fuse on the 2018 models?
