my 5 year old 322, and brand new 717. Have to say, not a big fan of WHB, and I think this particular one is the lamest ever, BUT, it out performed 5 other 717's, so had to take it home

Personally, I like the WHB, but I know it's all in the eye of the beholder. Nice duo.

Looks real nice, front and back. I'm kinda partial to ovangkol.

Yes, the ovangkol is pretty,  but that front is stunning!

Well, as it goes there is great talks with run outs and bear claws etc. This has really no sign of a bear claw effect unlike my other acoustic that has the. But surely you can see the run out here clearly. Some like 'em and maybe a majority won't as well for cosmetic values and tonal sound it gets.

Is there a thread where you can listed to the others snippet/samplers of their Taylor? I can search i guess can I hehe! ;)

I have really heard the tonal sounds of all other Taylor models but which are known for a bit brighter sound but very rich with separation tonally.

The Ovangkol is the new norm aside from RW/Mada.

Thanks!

In my experience, ovangkol delivers a power and depth similar to rosewood but without the mid range scoop, which is why it provides a better balance IMO.

Well described. Intricate in a way as you play. It gives back what you put in per say. The power and growl is there. Well at least to my playing and ears of course! ;D

Here is my absolutely beautiful new 414CE-R.

I’ve played on it every day in the last two weeks since it arrived and I couldn’t be happier about it. Now I just need to step up my guitar game to do this wonderful sound justice.
On the pictures you can see the guitar in its case, in my garden and a sweet snapshot from my cat being just as excited about the instrument as I am.

Please resize your photos. This is a screen shot of my computer when I click on the picture of the cat:

I actually wrote up a tutorial on how to resize photos (it's very simple to do), but I don't know if it's been posted yet by the powers that be...

Hi Shutterbug.  You can click on the active link below the photo (with the paperclip) to download the picture to your computer's default download directory.  Once there, you can open it to any size you want and enjoy the beautiful high-quality photograph.  Once done...delete.

Peace.

It's laziness on the part of the poster. Look at the first few posts in this thread, way back on page 1. Those photos are perfectly sized.

I've never been on a forum which required a person to download a photo in order to view it, and I'm sure not gonna' start now...
