Hi everyone, after 30 years of playing I've graduated to my first Taylor - a 418e. As the happy owner of an Eastman T386, I bought an Eastman 422ce online during lockdown but was really disappointed. For a £1300 guitar the action and sound was quite frankly awful, but I was able to get a refund. I visited Guitar Village in Farnham and spend a few hours trying several guitars, including Eastmans, Martins and Taylors. It really is a fantastic shop and I've never had so much fun buying a guitar. I was on the verge of buying a Taylor 314CE but when I tried the 418e it sounded just fantastic. It's a big bodied guitar but I'm 195cm tall so feels just right to me. So a couple of life lessons - don't buy online without trying, and spend as much time as you can playing as many different guitars before you commit.
