NGD Merlefest
« on: May 13, 2012, 09:04:02 PM »
My annual trip to Merlefest was even better than usual this year.  The musical lineup was excellent and as usual Taylor was there with a booth and a tech providing free set ups.  I walked off with a really nice DN8 that I have hardly put down.

There was a custom all mahogany 12 fret GC that was beautiful and sounded great.  It was sold and someone ordered another like it.

On the stage Tony Rice enthralled me as always.  Sam Bush delivered one of the best sets I have seen at Merlefest.  With Alison Kruass and AKUS closing out the festival I left very satisfied.
Regards,
Tom

Tom, congrats on your new DN8. I've never been to Merlefest, but it sounds like a great event.

Congrats on your new guitar.  Tony Rice is coming here in September and I bought tickets to see him, would love to go to Merlefest sometime.

I'm sure you will be satisfied for years to come with your new Taylor.  Enjoy.

I went to Merlefest in 2011 (I live literally 5 min. from it, and I used to work at the college).  I looked around the tent and played a little, but the fishman guys had their amps turned up so loud I couldn't hear a darn thing.

Sorry, I don't know the date of Merlefest.  Was it before or after Docs passing?

It was before.  Doc just died within the past week, and I think Merlefest was in April.
