I just joined and wanted to say hi and how delighted I am to have found this site.
I just ordered what sounds to me like a very interesting Taylor 110.
It is a prototype 110e which I found at Island Music in Md on their web site. I called Taylor and they confirmed that it was a genuine prototype made in Aug '16 and shipped to Island Music in December. The top is Mahogany instead of spruce.
It should be here in a few days. Of course, I can't wait !!!
Will let you know when it arrives!
Reagrds all,
Russ

Welcome Soof - looking forward to pics of your 110. Enjoy your stay!
-
Welcome, Russ! Glad you called Taylor to verify-- the first thing I thought of when I was reading your post was, "I hope this isn't a counterfeit."
You'll enjoy this forum very much. And your guitar, of course. Have fun!

Welcome Russ. Like the others, I'm excited to hear reports about and see pics of your new Taylor. Sounds very interesting.

Hi all ! Here are 2 photos I took earlier today of my new 110e proto.
As you can see the soundboard is darker than spruce. It's a one-off mahogany confirmed by Taylor.
As you can imagine I'm lovin' this baby !!!

Hey, that photo is Bruce-worthy.
Where on the shore do you hail from? I spent the first 4 summers of my life in Belmar and vacation annually in Cape May.

Hello JT !
Spring Lake Hts is just a hop, skip and a jump from Belmar. The town below Belmar is Spring Lake. VERY expensive property, especially on the ocean front ! Walk 1 mile due west and you're in Spring Lake Hts. The Railroad tracks literally separate the two towns. I'm from the po' side of town ;D Actually, we are very middle class but it's tough living on fixed income as both my wife and I are retired.
Thanks for the compliment on the photos.
Where are you holding up these days?

Hillsdale, in far northeastern Bergen County.

Welcome! Beautiful guitar and definitely worthy of praise!
Mmm...Spring Lake. Yup, I remember driving around there when I lived in Woodbridge. Gorgeous area but expensive as you mentioned. Enjoy both your guitar and the area in which you live. :)
