Best hardware interface for Garageband?
« on: April 04, 2015, 08:44:29 PM »
I've got acoustics with pickups, and solid-body electrics, and am wondering what's the best hardware interface to get a guitar into garageband on my Mac. I've tried Apogee Jam and Mic, and neither gives the cleanest recording.  Any advice?

I use the Presonus Audiobox USB and it works great.  Very clean signal.  I once borrowed a friends Apogee Duet and it was great, admittedly better, but for my purposes not worth the additional cost, which is at least three times as much as the Presonus.  You can hear some of my recordings in my signature.  Forgive the bad play and bad mixing! ;)

I use an M-Audio fasttrack interface. You can plug into it but I mostly record straight into the mic (an MXL 4000). But I'm like an amateur's amateur. Works ok for me though.
